What is a Flex Period?
As of 2017-2018, every student will be enrolled in a “Flex Period”, a designated time and space for students to get help, finish work, reflect and better one’s own practices, attend workshops, or relax.
How does it benefit you?
Throughout the semester, a variety of programming will be made available to students and staff. Workshops are aimed to support specific needs – so if you are using a specific technology in your class, I can offer workshops during Flex period for students to get extra support. Sessions may include and are not limited to:
- Adding axes in LoggerPro
- Formatting in Microsoft Word
- Building presentations
- Manipulating spreadsheets
- Creating a Google Site
- Creating a Schoology portfolio
- Submitting homework on Schoology
- Embedding Google files into Schoology
You can submit tech training requests that will provide a resource for your students to seek tech guidance. If you are a new teacher, you are welcome to attend these workshops to familiarize yourself with O’Dowd technologies.
How can you submit session requests?
Sessions should be held at the highest time of need, so if you are just starting a unit that uses a specific technology, please fill out this form so that we can design and implement workshops specific to your class or department.
